While tattoos can be found on people in almost every country in the world, few know the history behind this ancient form of body modification. A part of this tale traveled on the arms of sailors from the magical islands of the South Pacific to Europe and beyond.

Amanda Fornal traveled to many isolated islands in the South Pacific while creating this documentary. Each day, she recorded unique encounters which took place over four months, through nine countries, twenty islands, forty interviews, and over fifty flights. Watch as she seeks out the deeper meanings and unusual stories behind these cultural markings.
